You know the horse that should be better than he is.

He has the breeding. He has the ability. He shows you enough to know it's there. But something isn't translating into performance.

  • Maybe he works beautifully at home.
  • Maybe you've seen flashes of just how good he could be.
  • Maybe he's straightforward until suddenly, in one particular situation, he isn't.
  • Maybe there's a growing list of little things you simply manage around.
  • Maybe the results still don't reflect the horse you believe you own.

Individually, these can look like completely different problems.

What if the missing performance and all those “little things” aren't as separate as they look?

I work backwards

What is driving the response?

The hanging, tension, asymmetry, fear response or unexplained underperformance may not be the problem. It may be the signal.

My work is to find what is generating that signal, not to manage what can be seen. I work with the nervous system, and see what becomes available to the horse.

At elite level, small things matter

  • A horse fighting their own body.
  • Energy spent on unnecessary tension.
  • A fear response before the race has even begun.
  • A side of the body they cannot fully access.
  • A compensation that makes movement less efficient.

They are hidden performance leaks. And they add up.

So the question isn't what's wrong with this horse.

It's: how much of this horse are we actually able to access?

Real cases

Case one · Racehorse

The £63,000 racehorse who wasn't running fast enough

He had the breeding and apparent ability, but wasn't producing the expected performance.

Mandy worked with him three times, using an early version of the nervous-system work that became Equi-Neural Shift.

Five months after his debut he returned to racing: 2nd, beaten approximately half a length. Then 1st. Then 1st. He later won again that season.

Racing performance has many variables. This is an individual case, and it is not a claim that Mandy's work caused those results.

What if the ability is already there — but the horse can't fully access it?

Case two · Horse + rider

The movement that suddenly became available

A horse was unable to organise their body sufficiently to perform counter-canter on request.

Mandy worked with both horse and rider for approximately one hour. Afterwards, the horse performed the movement on request. The same hour eliminated the rider's chronic neck and back pain.

Sometimes performance isn't a training problem. It's blocked at a layer conventional work doesn't reach.

Case three · Rider with a head injury

Pam, in her own words.

Pam is a rider who came to Mandy after a head injury. She was visibly guarded and tense, and found a simple counting task difficult. Mandy worked with her nervous system for approximately 10 minutes. The videos show her before and after, followed by her own account.

Same person. Approximately 10 minutes apart.

This is an individual case. It does not establish treatment of a head injury or predict another person's response.

The starting stalls

A horse can know exactly how to enter a starting stall and still plant his feet at the ramp. The usual question is how to make him go in.

Why is his nervous system responding as though this is dangerous?

The same applies to the horse burning energy before a race. Don't just manage what we can see. Ask what is driving it.

Mandy looks at the horse differently. Where others see a list of separate problems, she looks for what may be driving them.

The cases speak for the work.

Did a horse come to mind?

Maybe it's yours. Maybe it belongs to someone you know.

You don't have to own the horse to make the introduction.

Trainers, riders, yard managers, racing contacts: if you know exactly the horse she should see, Mandy wants to hear from you. Every introduction is treated in confidence.
